An iconic Tiki drink, created by Trader Vic. 1944, this tropical refresher brings summer time to any occasion with its lively medley of dark and aged Rums, Orgeat syrup, Orange Curacao and Lime juice. “Mai tai roa ae!” (translated from Tahitian – “One of the best!”)

INGREDIENTS

Mai Tai

2 ½ oz Angostura® 5-Year Gold Rum

1 oz Orange Curaçao

½ oz fresh lime juice

1 oz fresh pineapple juice (optional)

¼ oz Orgeat syrup

½ teaspoon white cane sugar

2 dashes Angostura® aromatic bitters

1 dash vanilla syrup (optional)

Garnish: Mint Sprig and Lime Wedge

Glass: Old Fashioned

METHOD

Shake all ingredients in an ice-filled shaker and strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass.
